Wind Souls, Atlanta, GA, 1991

The Wind Souls installation is related to the Heart Man story.  Wind Souls are the energy stations on earth that brought the Heart Men out of the ocean, onto the land, to help humans take care of the earth and themselves.

The Wind Soul stations produce different forms of energy: energy to generate electricity, energy to power intellectual thought, and energy to bring people together for enjoyment and meditation.  The Wind Souls, and their environment of large fabric sculptures, will signal the helpers to come to earth, to help us become the better society that we could be.

The futuristic windmills of the Wind Souls installation consider the aesthetic and natural requirements of Piedmont Park, the City of Atlanta, and its inhabitants. They become functional landscape sculptures, a meeting of man and nature.  "Wind Souls" is both an art performance and an exploration of future energy solutions.

Wind Souls is art installation with a purpose; art transforms bonds between people and their environment.  Wind Souls explores movements between form, between media, and between people.
